I.   THE ART OF FALLING DOWN

You have broken into me, illegal entry;
I'm flawed, by what you've chosen not to see;
Repressed truth, lost without my noose;
you've opened me; somewhat tight, somewhat loose.

Confused by perception and words so cruel;
I fell, deeper and deeper, a rhetorical fool.
Injured by scars re-opened too easily;
I reacted with dislocated mind, indecently.

Now, beyond the uncontrollable I lay;
buried knee deep in emptiness and dismay.
For what I want and what I need;
are burning and biting upon which they feed.

Stuck in between you and my own betrayal;
dwelling on unspoken thoughts, my senses fail.
Questions I wish you would begin to answer;
with words the science of silence can never utter.

II.  THE ART OF APPRECIATION

Here I am, hands tied, awaiting just a breathe;
a happy ending to this story before my death.
As time cascades these very words with a smile;
it reveals the reason all those moments were so worthwhile.

Your eyes so piercing, reading my mind;
your dreams so dear and so cleary defined;
That soft smile and those goofy happy faces;
the way you light up when those 80's hits play in places.

Those silent lips flowing ever so gently upon mine;
and how you always knew where to draw the line.
Those undeserved tears haunting your lovely face;
the only time I ever felt I wasn't out of place.

I'm the king of carrot flowers falling for your dreams;
those magical moments with theatrical themes.
Through the smiles, faces and sarcastic illusions;
I wanted you, loved you, seduced by sweet dilusions.

III. THE ART OF LETTING GO

Beyond the credits, I look back at what I adore;
crossing the line for you alone once more.
I'm Hoping for one more moment, even lies;
wishing I could find the fire in your eyes.

Instead, you take the breathe right out of me;
and leave a hole where my heart should be.
Without warning, you suddenly close the door;
and I wonder what I was actually there for.

Always wanted to get inside your head;
but I'd love you no matter what you said.
Always wanted your forgiveness for what they did;
but I'd love you no matter where it lead.

I'm afraid you're gone...

I don't want you;
I don't want you to go.
I've got the sun in my eyes;
I didn't see you passing me by.
I just wanted you;
I just wanted you to know.

I've had the sun in my eyes;
I'm sorry I didn't see you passing me by.
and I've had the wind in my ears;
I'm sorry I didn't hear you saying goodbye.

Author's Comments

I wrote this to say goodbye to someone I really cared about... we all say goodbye in our own way... some of us cry the pain away... some of us fight the pain away... I write the pain away...

What I've written includes three sections...

I. Falling Down: The End
II. Appreciation: The Memories
III. Letting Go: The Goodbye

This is a personal story, and may include references to certain things or songs that were shared between me and the person who inspired it...

If you tame me, then we shall need each other.
To me, you will be unique in all the world.
To you, I will be unique in all the world...
You will become responsible forever for what you have tamed...

very thought inspiring. its a pity that sometimes in order to get the best out of yourself, you need to be broken, to sift through the pieces and find the things you never knew where there, staring at you in the face...
